About Us
Resonate is a community education program run through the Vernon Live Well Clinic for Sexual Health and Pregnancy that focuses on equipping young people and adults with accurate, holistic information about relationships, sexual health, and life choices.
It is delivered by trained volunteers who go into schools, community groups, and local organizations to provide engaging presentations and discussions in hopes that something said - a word, a phase or a concept - will resonate and have personal meaning. The program is designed to help people, especially young people, make informed, healthy decisions around relationships, sexuality, and life by increasing knowledge, encouraging critical thinking, and promoting personal responsibility.
In essence, Resonate is the clinic’s outreach and educational arm, taking their mission beyond the clinic walls and into the wider community to:
Provide a factual, science and health-based voice
Promote healthy relationships and sexual well-being
Empower individuals with information before they face critical decisions
It reflects the wider goal of the clinic to support whole-person health, physical, emotional, and relational, through accessible, non-judgmental education.
Mandee has recently joined the Vernon Live Well Clinic team as the Community Education Coordinator for the Resonate program. Originally from Vernon, BC, she lived in the UK for 19 years and is excited to be back in the beautiful Okanagan with her husband Sam, and their 3 teenage children . With many years of youth work experience it is no surprise that she is involved with speaking to, educating and coaching young people in the very important context of relationships and sexuality. She has a passion for people of all ages to understand who they are and to be all they were created to be. Her hope is that through this program young people will see just how precious and unique they are equipping them to take action in their relationships and sexuality in healthy and informed ways.
